Hello all, In this tutorial, I will explain how to create a mod for Counter Strike: Source.

Alright, There are two ways to make skins for CSS.

You can either,

A: Use a plugin for Photoshop that supports .VTF files.

Or...

B: Convert the .VTF files to .TGA files, Using VTFEdit.

I will only be going over how to create skins using a .VTF Plugin, If you want to make a skin the other way, You'll have to find another tutorial.

Say for example, You wanted to mod the Deagle.

Firstly, You would navigate to
Photoshop>Plug-ins>File Formats

then you would copy and paste the file found in the 'Plugins' Folder, Into that folder.

Next, You would open Photoshop, And open up 'deagle_skin1'. It's located in
cstrike>materials>models>weapons>v_models>pist_dea gle Make sure you select the Value Texture File.

Then, Edit however you want.

When your finished, Click File>Save As and save it as a .VTF to your Desktop.

Then C+P the new file to the weapons folder.
(cstrike>materials>models>weapons>v_models>pist_de agle)
don't forget to backup the original file.

Then go in game.

And wallah, Your finished. Have fun making awesome skins.
