    Those are some beautiful speakers man, I can only dream about those. I am planning on getting the Polk Monitor 60s for my home theater. I hope you aren't listening to crappy/compressed mp3, instead of uncompressed FLACs.

    What receiver/amp are you using to power these bad boys?Are you sure your receiver isn't the culprit? I wouldn't recommend you open these up like some of these n00bs are suggesting, because they are quality speakers and shouldn't take any damage even with loud music.
