Well, the Epic 4G has a 1 Ghz processor, the S2 a 1.2 Ghz Dual Core. Should be less laggy.

Old or new Galaxy? The new one has way better specs.

I would strongly suggest the Samsung galaxy, since it has better hardware as sb above specified. ALso, If u experience lag probles running whatever u run, u can install custom Roms (and root phone aswell) allowing it an way better performance. Like I did my Android. The HTC, on the other hand, has weaker hardware and, despite runnin g Android too, custom roms availible dont change his performace very much. Plus, the samsung has a better battery life and better retroilumination, and then it wont harm your eyes that much as the HTC and also last more time. Either way, stick to the Samsung. Thats my opinion.
