A lot of laptops do this when they overheat to prevent damage to the computer parts. If it's a desktop make sure the fans are cleared of dust and same with laptop. Also make sure no vents are blocked or covered.

I sometimes have this problem and it's simply due to overheating.

game runs mediocre at best on my system... but its a great game... need to upgrade video card. im stuck with a hd5500 series.

My comp is right under the min spec on cpu xD (I has a 2.6ghz Athlon x2) But it runs fine xD I can always bump it up 100mhz if its needed.
