Anime Opening/Ending Comeptition 2011 Phase 1: Nominate

Hi guys, I'm trying to organize a bit of a competition to see which anime has the best opening and/or ending.

We're going to have to do this in parts this is going to be part one, nomination.



Nominating is very simple, you can pick up to 3 anime openings or endings and nominate them for a category. If you nominate something for two categories is counts and 2 nominations. Similarly if you pick both and opening and an ending of an anime it will still counts as 2 nominations. Here are the categories.


Best Graphic Presentation: Not all openings and endings sound the best, but some just look really ________ good and deserve to be recognized. This is the section for them


Most Unique Presentation: it may not look, sound or even be the best but sometimes you just have to reward creativity. If you think that the makers did something really interesting and unique, nominate it for this category.


Best Sound Presentation: If something has a really catchy song or jingle to it, it should go into this category. Pretty straightforward.


Best Graphic and Sound Quality: If you see an anime that sounds and looks like the developers used space age hardware to make the crisp graphics and sound that makes you feel your there, nominate it here.


and finally...

Best Overall: The grand title for this competition, only the best can have this spot. To balance out the fact that there is probably going to be more entries for this category if I see a decent amount of entrants I'll make the final nominees list bigger then for the other categories.


Alright guys you may begin nominations. I haven't set a close date for nominating yet because I cannot see how many people are participating. If I get a center amount of participation I'm guessing I'll give about a 2 weeks notice that the contest is going to close. After that I'm going to have all the nominations and make a final list of nominees for round two which is going to be voting.

Best graphic and sound quality: Deathnote first intro.

Haruhi Suzumiya has a pretty good opening.


Toradora is also good (its really happy and brings up the mood). (sound presentation)


Highschool of the Dead - I just like the art style of the opening (i dont like the anime). (best graphics presentation)

I dont really pay attention to outro i just skip it lol (except for Clannad's one).

First one is just plain creepy, I mean seriously after that I don't even want to know what the anime is about . I really liked your second one though and I have to say that is very unique. It'll be a good nominee

Nice . I'm more fond of the first ao no excorcist opening just because of the funny stuff that happens in it (I can totally see mephisto running over rin if he gets in the way .)

Toradora is a nice song, brightens up the mood. I also like how high school of the dead does like an art splatter theme, although the idea of the anime doens't really appeal to me so I probably wouldn't watch the anime itself.

Wow, you did quite a bit of work on that . We're doing all time but you can also have a top of 3 intros or outros you can nominate so if you could cut one of them that would be great, if you don't pick then I'll just randomly cut off the first on :P


I have to say I really do like the menalochy of haruhi suzumiya entrances but the anime itself was probably the worst I watched, they barely explain anything. Ever wanted to know how one of those bystanders in fantasy action anime's that just sees giant monsters everywhere and has no clue what the ____ is going? That's basically it. The comedy was a bit bunny at first but recycled jokes got old really fast :/
