Chrome is simplified for morons like a Mac to Windows.

    Firefox & Windows FTW.

I'd choose Firefox, compatible with almost all websites.

Chrome ftw. It's simple and straightforward. No toolbars. Just tabs and an address bar. Firefox feels clunky to me.

Firefox takes considerably longer to load pages.
I use chrome but did you know that chrome use THE SAME PLUGINS AS FIREFOx
Oh and why a bandwidght test you just want to see wich one is draining more Internet?
Yes firefox eats more internet then chrome.... Thats what you get for using such a huge ass GUI.

Speedtest uses flash, it's independent on browser speed. Derp.

What you're looking for are browser benchmarks that test rendering, js etc. Overall Chrome should beat firefox though

I'll do a quick SunSpider in a sec.

Guess FF beats Chrome @Sunspider now. Though the stable versions of either browser are far more optimized and the results could be hella different. Oh and Chrome generally tends to render faster and better than FF, at least imo.

In my case it would, I've got too many extensions, especially debugging & scripting ones, that interfere with SunSpider. Generally speaking it shouldn't really be an issue running normal extensions

and it would have been enough to skew the results in favor of Firefox?

The results are already in favour of FF right now. But you must take into account that I'm running nightly builds of both browsers. And had I run it with my main Chrome installation (not the nightly) it would probably have never even finished
