Of course you do. But teamplay in CoD is much more superficial than it is in Bf. In CoD teamplay is one of the many tactics you can employ to win a game. But is neither necessary nor essential. 1 person can carry an entire team. That being said, teamplay is a very good tactic. 2 good players communicating and coordinating their efforts can rape the opposing team. But usually when I play, I lone wolf it, and occasionally play as a team with a few friends.

In Bf, teamplay is an essential tactic, part of every strategy. You have 4 roles, and 4 people make a squad. Recon is a long range role. Recon's job is to offer long range fire support, recon capabilities (derp), and to eliminate individual targets quietly. Support is a machine gunner role, and as the title suggests, they carries out a support role. Support lays down suppressive fire, and lots of it. They also allow teammates to refill their ammo, with the ammo boxes they drop. Assault is a mid-range role that offers mobility and firepower. Assault also doubles as a medic and is able to heal and revive teammates. Lastly engineer is the most mobile, short ranged role. They carry most of the big ordinance, and function as both cavalry support, and anti-cavalry units.

4 people make up a team, and if they perform their roles properly and coordinate their efforts, they do very well. Simply put, Bf3 is a team game, CoD isn’t.
