How To Change FOV to 80

Hello EveryOne

I found a video on youtube for the FOV on Mw3

Status VAC : Unknown

Descriptions :

-Download HxD

-In HxD (Open/iw5mp.exe)

-Go to Search/Replace

-And Type "00008242" and replace by "0000A042"

-Save and Launch Modern warfare 3

I've been hunting for this =D Thank you very much for posting! Can anyone comment on the % chance of being banned/detected? Is this the same as using cheat engine to change your guns to level 31, challenges etc?

P.S. How can I change this to high values? 90/95/115 is what I often use.

Directly editing the exe is pretty much a 100% chance of ban.

There was a tool on the internet for widening FOV in any game (you download the 'plugin' for that game and run it) that supposedly would not trigger bans.

FOV - The field of view (also field of vision, abbreviated FOV) is the (angular or linear or areal) extent of the observable world that is seen at any given moment.
Different animals have different fields of view, depending on the placement of the eyes. Humans have an almost 180-degree forward-facing horizontal field of view, while some birds have a complete or nearly-complete 360-degree field of view. In addition, the vertical range of the field of view in humans is typically around 100 degrees.
The range of visual abilities is not uniform across a field of view, and varies from animal to animal. For example, binocular vision, which is important for depth perception, only covers 120 degrees (horizontally) of the field of vision in humans[citation needed]; the remaining peripheral 60 degrees have no binocular vision (because of the lack of overlap in the images from either eye for those parts of the field of view). Some birds have a scant 10 or 20 degrees of binocular vision.
Similarly, color vision and the ability to perceive shape and motion vary across the field of view; in humans the former is concentrated in the center of the visual field, while the latter tends to be much stronger in the periphery. This is due to the much higher concentration of color-sensitive cone cells in the fovea, the central region of the retina, in comparison to the higher concentration of motion-sensitive rod cells in the periphery. Since cone cells require considerably brighter light sources to be activated, the result of this distribution is that peripheral vision is much stronger at night relative to binocular vision.

EDIT exe/DLL files are often a high risk ban.

The VAC system reliably detects cheats using their cheat signatures. Any third-party modification to a game designed to give one player an advantage over another is classified as a cheat or hack and will trigger a VAC ban. This includes modifications to a game's core executable files and dynamic link libraries.

The Valve Anti-Cheat system is enabled for servers displaying the Secured shield logo. Using custom skins, sounds or maps and playing multi-player mods which do not modify core .EXE and .DLL files will not result in a VAC ban

but apparently a few people have used this for weeks without a ban. I've left CE open a few times while in a game and still haven't been banned, and that was almost a month ago.
