It's good for its price, but Intels equivalent is better in most cases.

That's probably what they're going to do. Knowing AMD they'll pull something fantastic out of their asses. I still love them thoug, I hate Intel

I don't think AMD is bad, Intel is just too good.

This is debatable, I find AMD is far better value for performance for mid-range products.

When I went and looked at Intel CPUs going for the same price, they were shit.

Not to mention my mobo doesn't support Intel.

Lets just look at the 1100T vs 2500K for example. On newegg the 1100T is priced at $199 and the 2500K is priced at $205. The 1100T is meant to be their premiere CPU for desktops and is featured in their highly toted Vision Black systems. Yet the 1100T is only able to outperform the 2500K in 7 measly benchmarks.

    AnandTech - Bench - CPU

    Sorry but that ain't value.

This is baaaaaaaaad. Basically, Intel now has a monopoly on the processor market. Before, with AMD as a competitor, they had to dial their prices down a bit. I really hope Intel is not going to take the initiative and bring up the prices. Not like we have a choice to choose from.

But I wouldn't use AMD six-core CPUs, I'm using an AMD FX-4100, got it for $65 on sale.

But with the 2500k you could easily overclock it and outperform the 1100T in those benchmarks easily.

Sounds like your gfx card is shitty, not your CPU.

If you go through the real-life office benchmarks AMD still holds its ground, even against pricier CPUs. Given the fact that most of the money AMD / Intel make is from selling normal desktop computers to people that don't OC or run CPU-demanding tasks, I doubt Intel will be able to bash AMD out of the low / mid range market that fast. High end market? AMD's already lost that

Who uses x86 anymore? Everything is x64 now days, at least related to desktop computers.

Doubt they will jack up the prices of their processors (at least here in America), would fall under monopoly power abusing laws.
