You know I actually miss good WW2 games. They were so colourful and had real drama.

Old WWII games where actually pretty good. They did get stale after a while though, but I think we need to revisit that time in history. Potentially some other ones as well. This modern war thing is getting kinda boring.

Especially when they try too hard incorporate "interesting" plot twist. I miss games where you were one solitary soldier who was just a part of a grander whole. Last time I had immense fun in a war game was in Call of Duty 2. Longish campaign, very good graphics for the time, interesting set pieces and actual grand large scale battles (Stalingrad is one of my favourite missions of all time). I've yet to try Red Orchestra though.

I remember playing the mission at Point du Hoc many many times. That and the one where you had to escort tanks across the desert.

Ever since Call of Duty 4 came out the whole fun was taken out. In Cod 2/3 you were able to punch people and whack them which made it fun and enjoyable unlike the usual stabs and commandos we see now...

I got Red Orchestra..game is pretty fucking hardcore bro.
No run and gun boomeranging knives across maps or noobtubing..
Just straight up realistic squad based strategy fps.
The sniper only servers are pretty fun too though..
I've yet to encounter hackers in that game either..I might pick up RO 2 after I buy the l4d series

Fortress Stalingrad missions, The Tiger and The End of The Beginning were my fav missions But mounting the first assault at Normandy just before Point Du Hoc has to be one of the most epic moments.
