Ipod touch 8GB or spending money for australia trip in 6 months

im deciding on either saving up for an 8gb ipod touch or to use money for a geography trip im going to in about 6months

my mum is giving me 1 hundy because i passed my 2011 end of year exams

should i save up for an ipod touch which is around $200-$250 or save up and use it as spending money for aussie?
