What model/make is your Graphics Card/Processor?

ok well you cpu and gpu are two entirely different things, to overclock your cpu its best to do that from the bios not using software, adjust you front side bus speed to overclock your cpu, remember thats by a multiple of 4 for four lanes and formulate with your cpu's multiplier to get your effective operating frequency.

your gpu i would recommend using evga's precision tool.
