280 hardrive
1ghz processor (ik its bad)
and good graphics card its 1 month old laptop?? whats wrong?? what i do??

- Close unnessecary processes, set the Runescape process to high priority
- Play Runescape in standard detail, instead of high detail

Anyways, if none of the above work you'll have to play Runescape on a (much) lower quality

Set the graphics to the lowest setting, set priority of runescape to high, and to be honest 1 ghz is barely enough to play runescape. Your RAM is fine, but your graphics card is probably not what it should be. Runescape's graphics have come a long way and it uses more machine than it used to. I also highly suggest you download the client from the website, it works better (for me at least) than any browser. I noticed while using firefox for runescape that there's a slight memory leak, e.g. the process kept bloating more and more, so from my experience the client is much better. Also, changing the renderer to DirectX might improve performance a bit if it isn't already on that.

if its lagg it might be caused by java beeing outdated try download the newest version
if not try check youre speed at the net just google speedtest and u will find some :P

u could also try to get the runescape client it fixed some lagg for me
u find it under downloads on rs homepage

The lag is caused from 1GhZ computer
get like 1.8GhZ then you'll be okay..
im 100% thats the problem

Sorry but your computer is not above average. 3gb ram is shocking these days.
Id suggest investing in a custom built computer.

-remember not to overclock as itl fuck you up in one year instead of four.
