Good ol' PS2

Ok here is my problem. I insert the disc, everything is cool, PS2 screen goes on. Then it asks me for memory card if i want to save. I choose no so i can jump right in the game. After that it's only a blank screen. The game is Pirates of Caribbean. Is this PS2 problem or the game disc problem? Can anyone help me?

yeah its the game .... anw if it was the ps2 it should do that with more then only one game...
