Well negative reputation is supposed to be inherently bad - namely reputation is supposed to reflect you as a member of this society. Sadly it gets abused quite a bit. OP, mind checking the derep reasons in your user CP?

Well if you want it to go up, start helping out the community. Doesn't mean you have to release anything, but just any help in general should suffice. Rep is sometimes very abused though, so honestly making a good name for yourself is better than rep. If people have respect for you, they could care less about your reputation.
