Random lag spikes

Has anyone else noticed random spikes and FPS drops with the latest patch? Before this patch, my FPS was around 60, now it's borderline 20-30, with the same settings, and even lower settings.

For a time I thought it might have been my pc derping, since not only the game lagged, but even the music I was playing on iTunes experienced the same thing at the same time. I'm still going to.do some upgrades but I think there's something seriously wrong with the game that causes these lag spikes. Also if you're hosting a run and have a lag spike, everyone else in your party has one too.
