scary shit... My gpu nearly exploded

so....i was playing with my gpu drivers, and i turned my gpu fan to 56%, i clicked apply and then i heard a loud noise... i was like "holy fuck" so i tried to go to the default settings but my mouse went out of battery, i thought my gpu is gonna expload lol..... that scared the crap out of me, but anyway... could it really happen ? if i left the fan go this crazy for long time would it expload or something ?

My PC had already been overloaded its GPU. That's why my fan has already been buzzing some LARGE noise like "ZZZZZZZEEEEEENNNGG". However, it didn't exploded my PC. Been using it since last 2 months before the buzzing sound starts. I'm also playing some HIGH graphic games even WITH the buzzing noise of my fan.

I'm not lying at all, I was fucking around with Catalyst Control Panel and set fan speed to 100 percent, accidentally pressed apply instead of close, and it was fairly loud.. turned it down quickly.

Between my 7 fans in my pc
GPU
CPU
Motherboard (yes I have a fan directly on my motherboard)
and my case fans 1 on top 1 in front 2 on side all at 100% speed and it just sounds like.. well.. a light humming that you don't even notice unless you want to $220 computer case for the win.

I doubt fan speed could make it explode. Could make it unbearably loud though. :P

I run my fans at a really low speed (though I have a lot with this case and they're all bigger than normal) and run at 25 degrees Celsius while idling and around 35-40 when running even the most intensive games. And it's silent as hell. ^_^

Nah it was pretty loud but then it was just the fan.
I think my GPU fans is the loudest of all my fans.

my gtx 560 it doesnt make noise [ when i play i put it on auto so it does make a little noise but not so much like a motor]

If you really think that a loud fan makes your computer explode (it would actually be the opposite since it is running faster, and getting a better airflow), you shouldnt be playing with your graphics settings ._.

my mobo only supports 2 chassi fans so i have to run my crossfire 6870's at max as soon as i start playing games
