    Exclamation [Help] Computer Virus >_<

Okay I've had a virus for a while now. Before today, all it did was make my virus protector keep detecting it and "removing" it. After removal, I would restart pc and guess what? The same virus is still there and it pops up wanting me to remove it over and over. Well, I ignored it because it wasn't working... but now, I am getting new tabs opened advertising random stuff, OpenGL errors that have made Photoshop and Combat Arms stop working (I was in the middle of a damn mod in Photoshop too). So I'm tired of it. I've googled how to fix it and no help.

    Specs: Win7 Ult. 64-bit
    Virus names:
    -Trojan:Win64/Sirefef.M
    -Trojan:Win32/Sirefef.AK
    -Trojan:Win64/Sirefef.W

Each one gets detected about 3 times a day, even if I turn real-time protection off. (Actually, with real-time protection on, they get detected every 60 frickin seconds)

    Help please!

I used Combofix... that didn't work either.

And google said something about deleting a process from taskmanager called Random.exe, then deleting 2 registry files, and something else. I never even had any of those, so I couldn't delete them...

You got any Restore Point on Windows to be used, if yes try doing it, otherwise use an another antivirus or just save your files and format your HD.

Sadly, I don't think I do. If I do, it was a long time ago... And I've tried to format my HD after completely backing up my pc to an ext. HD and also copying my important files to it, but it won't let me because it says I can't format the HD in use. I could plug the ext. one in and restart it, go to the boot menu, and boot it from the ext. one then format it though, right?

You my friend are infected by a virus like my PC have along time ago. That is, I reformatted it. If their is no solution, its time for a resolution. And that is the time to reformat your PC like what I did. If you've been using a flash drive awhile ago then infected your PC, then its a very bad virus. There's no choice but to reformat it. Not unless your Anti-Virus did something miracle.....perhaps.

damn okay. Thanks Please read my last comment - I'm not 100% sure that method is the correct method to reformat... is it? (Don't want to screw my pc up worse than it already is)

Hmm. Like Jigsaw said, try scanning your computer with Malware Bytes. Do a full scan, and just let it scan. HOPEFULLY, it will find some infections for you to remove - if lucky you'll get the piece of malware you've got now. If that doesn't work, you might wanna try using Hijack This (useful for computer geeks and White hats) and paste the notepad that opens up onto pastebin and send me it. I can evaluate it and see if anything malicious is running such as an active virus, or anything like that.

Yeah. The Malware Bytes will usually pick up everything, especially if you do a FULL scan. Many people think that the quick / flash scan will do it, but it really doesn't. If it was a man-made virus (such as a keylogger, or RAT) they can enter a destination for the malware to basically duplicate and melt itself in. So, try that Malware Bytes, and if you're still worried about being infected, or think you're infected use Hijack This and send me the pastebin.

Okay ty. And yeah, I'll probably use Hijack This just to be safe because this is the first virus my pc has gotten, and I've had it for a year.

Mmk cool. I'm very experienced with computers along with malware removal, and most of the malware / viruses I dealt with were very easy to get rid of. My most difficult virus to remove was a Ramnit back in 2011. It infected over 850k computers in 2011 I think? Luckily, I had to do it once.

    Anyways, good luck.

a reformat would do the trick.
