Yeah, I know that now. Guess it all makes sense now. I like how they putting this story together where you have to do some research or remember way back in the beginning

You know what they say... Tobi is a master of deception.

As soon as Madara was brought back, it was very clear that Tobi was not Madara. Tobi knows Madara, and Madara knows who Tobi is.
They didn't reveal who Tobi actually is yet. There's a lot of different opinions out there on who Tobi really is... But it'll probably be something you'd least expect.

Madara has Rinnegan, yes. He awakened it a little before his death. Kabuto is gone though, and since the jutsu stopped, everyone that was brought back to life using this jutsu was supposed to go... However, Madara is the only one that didn't go back. He performed a seal that separated Kabuto and himself, freeing himself from Kabuto's control and jutsu. So the only way to get rid of Madara is to either seal him, or kill him.

They didn't reveal who Tobi actually is yet. There's a lot of different opinions out there on who Tobi really is... But it'll probably be something you'd least expect.

:/ Tobi actually was announced as midara(several, several times for months). Then they changed that. Now tobi is a blank character and who he actually is......well its a bit of a letdown.

Because tobi can't be:

1. Pein
2. Midara
3. Orochimaru
4. Itachi
5. Danzo.

Who tobi is, is pretty much bound to fail imo. Midara was the last great badguy of the series. Everyone else is either dead for good or has been re-introduced currently.

I mean there is absolutely no one from the naruto legends left who would make a good badguy. The fact that he has a sharingan/rinnengan is pointless since eye-surgery is somehow extremely common.

That would actually be pretty cool, if he was a new character we've never heard of. It would be cool if it WASN'T some legend that was bound to be a big bad guy, and if it was just another ninja that became really strong because of hatred. Then again, I don't think it's any of that. Like I said, I think it's probably going to be an experiment from Orochimaru gone wrong. (Probably of him trying to "clone" Madara and then it went wrong and somehow manifested itself into a Zetsu body.)

Announced? I thought Tobi only claimed to be Madara in the anime/manga, and then they didn't do any sort of outside confirmation about it.

He's only a mystery now. There are tons of different thoughts on who Tobi may be. He's definitely an Uchiha.
... Unless they come up with something and then say that his sharingan eye was stolen too. That would really suck.
I heard next manga Tobi is going to reveal who he is.

:/ The problem with announcing someone after 10 years is the question "who?" you will get from the fans. I mean imagine if tobi turned out to be "bob". No one knows who the fuck bob was and he was never mentioned. Why even bother naming him bob? He could just stay tobi. In fact since there is absolutely no lore in bob's character, his backstory might as well be from the thousands of filler characters.

They did this:

1. Tobi comes in as the mastermind behind the akatsuki
2. Who is tobi? (at the end of chapter)
3. Next chapter: Tobi is midara!!!
4. And for a ton of chapters he made his appearance with the words "Midara!" said by the author, not the characters.

Most people see this as a twist when midara was not tobi, but thats not really a twist. Thats the author just changing names for the sake of prolonging the series.

Maybe the creator just didn't want Tobi to be Madara? His ideas could have changed. :S

I mean, he had the 6th coffin thing planned for a WHILE, that was just barley after the 5 kage summit.
