My xbox controller squeak?

I put wd40 on a qtip and rubbed it on the Xbox analog ( right analog ) do you think it will mess it up?

No, it won't. If you used something that was sticky, or hardened - it could mess it up. Example; Syrup. Though, WD40 will most likely improve the squeak.

If it drips onto the controller chip, quite possibly, yes.

It'd be smarter to disassemble it and clean up all the grease and stuff on the stick, then apply WD-40 properly.

Just some models. The controls that come with the xbox are new but not the best they have. So u probly got a fucked up one lol.

In that case it could just need to be broken in, or it is just defected and you need to take it back and get a new one.

I don't know I bought a ps3 controller a while ago and I used it for a month and it still did that I took it back and they gave me a new one because it was defected.
