Batman is about to get fucked up by Bane's ultimate punch, but Superman swoops in and takes it to the head and dies, and Batman finishes off Bane.

Batman and Ironman are great characters, you don't have to be an OP character to be a well written or good character. :S I personally like Batman more than superman. (Even if my favorite DC character would probably be The Flash.)

But, if you just watch the live action movies and then base your opinion off of that, well, you have no valid opinion at that point.
