im playing in I7 860 @3.2 ghz 4gb ram ATI radeon 4890.
problems?
Details, please people, details!
My computer is stuffed with an i5 @ 3.30GHz, 8.00 GB of RAM, and an nVidia GeForce 9800 GT graphics card. Overall, it's really outdated, but BF3 runs fine on medium to high and most other games on high or ultra settings.
The CPU is good, the 8GB of RAM is decent, but I'd prefer a GeForce GTX 690, and maybe a SSD or a hybrid drive.
And of course, probably the best thing about Intel CPUs, besides the speed, is the ability to make a Hackintosh.
So what are your computers stuffed with and what is the best build for running Battlefield?

Problems? Yes; elaborate more? How well does an ATI radeon 4890 play Battlefield with 4GB of RAM? Low, medium, high settings? The i5 and i7 processors are one notch away, and not much of a difference unless you get to the numbers and statistics.
As famed 19th century American author Mark Twain wrote, "'There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.'"
Stay civil, my friend. This is a discussion, not a bragging competition.
I am totally satisfied with my well performing, few quality possessions that I have and do not hold on to them like a drowning man to air or a deluded fool to "his" or "her" material possessions. And do not need any more. It makes the shelves and closets cluttered. I have a thing for clean, minimalism aesthetics.
What about your dream rig?
I7 2700K ish at 4,5ghz watercooled. 2 times GTX690. and i have a LG e2290 atm. i would like another 2 of them. and somewhere between 8-16gb ram would be good.
and a silent keyboard would be nice because this one is like RATATATATATATA
i know not much about motherboards though. but i like the ASUS rampage...
A rig with Nvidia's SLI using two GTX 690 would be really nice. If I could make a new computer, I would go with an ASUS rampage motherboard too.
Something like this:
1x ASUS Rampage IV Extreme LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Motherboard
1x GeIL EVO Leggara Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model
2x EVGA 04G-P4-2690-KR GeForce GTX 690 4GB 512-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
Boring hardware to make the computer work:
1x CORSAIR H100 (CWCH100) Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
1x LOGISYS Computer Area 51 CS51WBK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 480W Power Supply
1x Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
1x WD VelociRaptor 600GB because fast hybrid drives are cool
I think that's about it.
you might get a better power supp.
1500W will do
copy from newegg:
Minimum of a 650 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 38 Amps.)
Newegg.com - EVGA Signature 04G-P4-2692-KR GeForce GTX 690 4GB 512-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
2SSD's in raid could give some boost to
1500 is for like quad 680s or something. You should never need that.

650 for the entire system with one of them herpderp. The cpu takes roughly 150watts, gpu 250, other accessories are less then 200. You clearly need to do more research.

All I can say to you guys is to at least learn what computer parts do what... First of all, the thing about Asus rampage is that you do not buy an Asus Rampage. There are much better motherboards than Asus Rampage at half the price.
Second, i7 860 @ 3.2GHz is nothing. Don't try to brag for big numbers. I have an i7 3770K @ 4.3 GHz and it is still not that good.
Third, a rig with SLI 690 would definitely be great but overkill. A single 690 can play any game out and any game that will come out for 1-2 years of time at max settings. All you would do is waste money even if this is a dream PC thread. Wasting money on something that doesn't make your performance go any higher than what is already max is worthless. And yes, as Snowbrdd said, 1500 is overkill for SLI. I have quad gpu's with 1500 W and I still have a bit more juice left. GTX 690 SLI needs a Power Supply of at least 950W. 950W should be more than enough for the other stuff you guys are putting in.
I had 3 ATI 6990's(Duel gpu = 6 gpu's) that only required 1200watt and could run that without too much problems, mind you at the time it was setup for bitcoin mining, I have since sold 2 of the 3 cards and kept just 1 6990 that play any game on the market today.
