Also - nothing wrong with having sex. As long as your were safe. I would be concearned for the age gap (I assume you're like 19-22?) if you are getting in to a serious relationship. The age gap can be a significant difference just because you probably have completely different life-styles (going to school\work.)

I knew I shouldn't have stated anything about religion, as this would happen.

I actually have committed minor sins, but nothing as big as this. It's too much of a risk, no matter what you say

You're right, it is risky to go around and have tons of sex-partners. But you can still have sex with longer-term girlfriends as long as you know one another's sex history and are mature enough to get tested.

Just justify it with your own views, not your religion's. You have a perfectly good reason for abstinence there.
