I cant play blacklight retribution

Hello, yesterday i download the blacklight retribution from steam (its free) and i installed, patched and when i click in "PLAY" say "doesnt work" i think its my OS because i have Windows 8 (final).
Can someone help me to play this magnific game. Help please

Just install Windows 7 or XP... I recommend Win7

i can play.
i create a dual boot with windows 8 and windows 7 home basic and works

Ignore these douche bags, Anyways go to
Blacklight Retribution\Blacklight Retribution\Live\Binaries\Win32

make a shortcut of the BLR.exe
put it on your desktop right click it
properties
at the end line put this as the target

Blacklight Retribution\Blacklight Retribution\Live\Binaries\Win32\BLR.exe" -dx9

It will run the game directly without steam and launcher errors. If you get freezes ingame
go to the same folder and delete the pb folder
and don't use launcher use shortcut i gave u

forget, now i install windows 7 ultimate 64 bits because i upgrade my ram to 4gb and now work perfectly
