Onlive -- The end of multiplayer game reversing\hacking?

Onlive enables you to play games' such as Battle Field 3 on an extremely low end PC\mac. How this works is you download this software which opens a highly optimized connection to Onlive's servers, Onlive's servers does all the game processing code and then renders the game onto your screen. Thus there is completely NO load on the client's computers. If you have a 1.4 MB connection you can be running game at a wii resolution. And if you have a 6MB+ connection you can even get it running in HD on your TV. This means the only possible communication to the game, and the only communication to the game itself is the key strokes you press. Thus this will stop us hackers from modifying the games temp memory, or it's execution path.

Packet editing what? Incoming screen renders, or outgoing keystrokes. There's nothing you can do with that.. As for network redirection, If they were going for security, they'd only allow lan play(within their server's local connection). Not everything can simply be solved by packet filtering. For future reference, before trying to make everyone look like an idiot, make sure what you're saying is still making sense.

I agree with you, nothing is unhackable, this isn't the end. And most game's would rather remain independent then go with onlive for many reasons. This is just going to be another step to overcome. Only high-end games will be on there. You won't be seeing games like Combat Arms, Crossfire, or any free MMOs. You'll probably see GOW3 for a year or two, then it'll be removed.

Is onlive multi-platform?

NVM, says on the site it isn't. (Only widnows +mac (Intel based.))

Its not out yet so we don't know if its multi-platform but I think I saw it works on mac.

The question is, are game producers going to pay the thousands more for the server space? Or a bit of their profit in exchange for it? There for sure will not be any free games on there, but the client can be used with a 1MB browser plugin, so it's probably even going to get on the Iphone(some hacker will figure it out).

This looks really cool I lagg a lot so if I can play the games I like with no lagg then I would buy it.
