chances are zero if you remember to seed.
So I've been "downloading" some software for editing videos recently. Wondering, what are the chances somebody gets caught for pirating.
Here's an estimated number that I randomly just thought of in my head: about $12,250
So what are the chances a pirate gets caught for downloading such programs and I've seen the warnings about 250,000 dollars but I also read people pay about 3,000 dollars for settlement. What do you think the chances are and how much do you pirate?
chances are zero if you remember to seed.
Big corporations suing and imprisoning poor bastards who wouldn't buy their product even if they weren't freely accessible - sounds like a good moral thing to do.
There are two types of tragedies in life. One is not getting what you want, the other is getting it.
If you wake up at a different time in a different place, could you wake up as a different person?
dude why you take it so serious all the cracked apps came out from usa so dont worry
The more people who pirate = bigger net needed to catch individuals (if that makes sense)
Also, pirating can also raise the popularity of the game so it's discussed more... so i guess some companies allow it to some extent.

Most music companies actually want their music to be downloaded, it gets them so much more popular.

but @Anonymous will be there if you get caught
Some torrents are watched by ISP's, and you may get a few warnings from your ISP with them threatening to cut off your service. But chances of getting "caught" and prosecuted are close to nil.
