I think this has to do with their attempt to stop chaos ... they were saying a patch was coming to stop banned players from playing ... then i see this in the steam forums for MW3 by Valves BurtonJ.

"We're actively investigating a server outage that impacts AuthenticateUserTicket (part of the multiplayer authentication system). I will update this thread when we have more details or the issue is resolved."

So sounds like IW doesnt even know how their own game authenticates with steam, no wonder i see quotes like this flying around by their development team members

it should as they rolled back the patch



EDIT: according to the steam downtime notices a fix has been put in for the authentication issue, so likely the patch will be pushed again shortly. I do love how steam is covering for IW failure to implement proper coding.

yup bud - the patch has been patched by a patch,which isnt a new patch - its and old patch, the patch we had before - wow - im all patchy !!! ,anyway the new new patch that replaced the new patch - is our old patch and the game works and we can play for now lol

I hear after they released it, shortly after they downgraded back to 1.9.453....
And you need to go back to that to find games....Idk how true it is though.
