I don't keep a computer in my pocket, that's why.
SMS is offline so I guess it's more easy to use.
It's a hypothetical question. Obviously no one uses Google+ to text message, but I see practically everyone use Facebook on their phone. So why not?
Well you gotta get with the times. What's the point of having a smartphone if you're not using the internet (not for web browsing, but for other stuff that requires internet)? I only see old people not use a smartphone.
OR Facebook amirite?
I'd rather pay for internet than pay for text messaging (and no getting both is stupid).
So what phone you use?
You can only get a smartphone with data (internet), and if you use one w/o it (like through a sim card), your carrier will find out & will slap you with a serious charge on your next bill or revoke your plan. Data does not have nearly as good service as that of text messaging in terms of coverage. WiFi is not available EVERYWHERE.. have you ever been outside of the house? Also, there is nothing wrong with not owning a smart phone and using a simple qwerty phone. I do it and I have an iPod Touch and Samsung Galaxy 5.0, which are the same as their smartphone counterparts in EVERY way except for data/phone, which perfectly satisfy my consumer needs.
not everyone has google+
why text when you can call and hear the person's voice?
You did not just say Google+...
You can text people wherever you are.
Skype Ftw?
