So recently I decided to re-download Vindictus after a couple month hiatus, and it installed fine, but when I run Vindictus, it goes through the black screen with the nexon logo, then the cat logo, and after all that, I get this


I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, but to no avail.

Anyone know a solution to this?

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION usually refers to not having administrative access.

According to the article by Microsoft, EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION occurs when "The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access."

Solution: make sure Vindictus is running as administrator.

I'm using win7 64bit, ran it with administrative rights, still didnt work.

Installed through steam, and it seems to now work half the time. I guess i'm happy :/

Try using a program called Game Booster. Some programs like drop box or teamviewer somehow mess with the game. I had the same problem for about a month until I ran game booster and saw that vindi worked fine with those other programs temporarily stopped while the game was running. Game booster shuts down unnecessary processes, and you may get a clue as to what's causing the problems based on what it stops. Then you can either manually stop the program, or just use game booster every time.

Exception Access Violation is also a random error that comes up frequently and can cause the game to crash. My guess is it's due to poor scripting on Nexon's end. But if it's consistently happening during game startup, it's probably another program, firewall or AV etc.
