I used to run Minecraft on an Intel Celeron 2.16 ghz, 2GB RAM , Integrated Intel Graphics Card w/ performance mods at 26-30 FPS.

That's entirely possible. Not only is Minecraft very nit-picky with it's compatibility but it is an incredible resource hog.
