i do it already, i have no anti-virus, off firewall, download the latest cf, install it with safe mode but it do nothing, same problem

I you really had re-installed CF the problem should be solved , Either re-install ( Download latest client ) or wait till someone uploads it for You .

I just did it, but it doesn't work

I re-install it a hundred of times

AssalamuAlikum, I had the same problem and I managed to solve it.

1- download crossfire.exe from the attachment then paste it in ur CF folder
2-Please make sure to check the file version of your CF client.
Latest Version = 1113

Steps on how to change the version file
a. Open your CF folder and locate for version.ini file (right click then properties)





b. Unchecked the read-only attributes.
c. Double click the version.ini open as notepad.
d. Change the latest version to 1072 then save (press Ctrl+S).
e. Right click version.ini again then go to properties.
f. Make sure that the version.ini file is checked read-only.



g. Run CFLauncher.

1. Uninstall the game completely. 2. Disable your antivirus completely. 3. Re-install Crossfire. 4. Re-activate your antivirus.
The reason this error occurs can be if you install Crossfire and your anti-virus program finds one or more of the files "dangerous." ? this may helps ..?

1- go to cf folder

2- right click on version.ini and make it not read only

3- open version.ini

4- copy this and baste it there:

5- right *click on version.ini and make it read only
