Some of them such as ^[{+activate}] work only in the online game chat, others for example [{+frag}] do you have to use in your steam name.
Most of them doesn't work because they have patched some things, and the online colors are only visible to yourself.

Also, the left- and right mouse icons in your name take already that much space, CoD displays only 4 letters after it. Most usefull is [{+frag}] because that one is very short. The only one that everyone can see in an online match is ^[{+activate}] copy it and ctrl+v it in the online chat, press 1 time on the spacebar and say something. It will blink. Hope it helps!
