imo both are practically the same except the screen size and the price.
I have an S3 and i prefer it over the Note 2 cuz i feel the Note 2 is like a Semi-Tablet...

Never had the first one but I can say the camera on this is good

Meh, i just need a reasonable price LOL cause actually I was planning on going to the original Samsung Street or City place in South Korea because it's cheaper there apparently
