I think it's ridiculous. San Diego is pretty bike friendly. I see tons of people riding without helmets and/or brakes. I'm on a fucking backstreet and the cop nabbed me. I really do think it's because I'm black...and no, I don't normally pull the race card. I've experienced this sort of thing before. Do you know how many times I've been put in handcuffs because I've matched the description of a tall black male around 18 years old...and that's when I was 12 and 13 -.-

and I never knew you could get stopped for no brakes LOL I got stopped for no helmet and that's about it... had my headphones in and the police were shouting at me so i kept riding LOL I eventually heard them and stopped xD

Yeah, the USSK (United Socialist State of Kalifornia) can be a bitch like that
But I used to ride bikes with no breaks all the time, never had a helmet and cops never bothered me

Anyway, im going to do some reading on this, see if I can give you anything to fight this charge
I never pay tickets when i get them, i try and fight them
