The 965 Phenom II X4 would like to have a word with you.
inb4 'hur dur its an older CPU, only 4 cores' Its a budget build. The 965 has fantastic quality, for a really low price. Its true AMD has been falling fast since the bulldozer chipsets, but that does not take away from the quality of their older chips.

The X4's were released in 2009 iirc. At least the Deneb chipset was. Earlier K10 chips are pretty outdated by now, but the Zosma and Thuban chipsets are worth mentioning too (newer quad and hexa-core CPUs). The 965 was a Deneb chipset though, and was released in 2009. 3.4Ghz Quad core with pretty good OC options (if you get the Black edition), at only ~$95. Perfect option for lower budget builds, while maintaining decent speed and power, especially with OC options.
And yes, ever since Bulldozer, AMD has been hit really damn hard in the CPU area, especially with the Sandy Bridge chips hanging around. They worked well in high threaded environments, but were stupidly power hungry and were simply not cut for anything else. All the talk of the Zambezi chips before they came out hurt them too, as they were made up to be a new competitor to the Sandy Bridge chips, but wound up not being anything like what they were supposed to. Shame really, AMD has always been a great manufacturer, providing good chips for better prices. With Sandy Bridge chips in fairly lower prices these days though, and the age that some of these chips will start to show soon means they are pretty much the better options for power. But with the Phenom II series still kicking hard, its pretty silly to overlook them when going for budget builds relying less on sheer power, rather than doing what you want them to do vs how expensive they are.
i dont about about the cpu
