I don't think there is a more unselfish thing someone could do (well duh there is, but really. it takes a chunk of time to make hacks, and they don't really get anything back).

Yeah, those are not hack makers obviously. Those are douchebags. But, there aren't many of them. Also, learning C++ isn't as easy as some people make it sound. It isn't the hardest thing in the world, but it's not by any means quick and easy.
