Needing new SWF reader

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player (version 11) multiple times and tried running the .swf to no avail. When I try opening the swf, it just shows garbles of code. Can anyone link to a better .swf reader that they use? Thanks

I think you do not open it with flashplayer but something like notepad. Fire up flash projector and from the file menu choose open then browse the swf.
Make sure you have the right program, download Windows Flash Player 11.6 Projector from here: Adobe Flash Player - Downloads
Or simple drag and drop the swf to you web browser window.
