What kind of hardware store doesn't sell iron bars? Like a bar just made of iron. They had steel but no Iron. Is Iron that fucking exclusive to manufacturers that they won't sell it to the public?

And I couldn't even find 14 gauge copper wire, what the fuck.

Yeah, I tried with steel, but Iron is needed because it will instantly demagnetize as soon as the current is cut (when it goes up), while steel will keep it's magnetic properties

Yeah, but I have a backup plan which is easier, so I gave up. The steel bar wasn't even expensive so I didn't lose much

Well if you ever need iron or copper try junk yards you can always find it cheap there. I use to have a circuit board thing when I was a kid came with a book that had 10000000000000's of things you could make with it. Like LED light shows, bells kind of like the one you made, sounds just all kinds of cool shit.

I had both. An older one, then the Snap Circuits stuff. Shit's actually a lot harder than it looks. It had differential transistors, LEDS's, radio transmitters, and even adjustable EV switches and shit.

Electric currents induce magnetic fields. Coil up the wire to increase the field's strength and boom, you got an electromagnet.
