You think you can get away with things because you have a monopoly on this kind of game.
Ever since Kabam joined the team they showed signs that they want more money:
Instant Pot buying, no stat pot drops on gods so people buy more from nexus, extra boosting items for real money and finally pets.
Right now they are also profiting from disabled trading because people need to get their gear from the nexus now (or so they think).

KABAM, WAKE UP!

People are making a private server now. You know what that means?
No more monopoly. No more.
And that means we don't have to take shit from Kabam anymore.
It is only a matter of time before the rotmg servers are empty. Either of rage quits or people hearing about a server that Kabam doesn't run.

Im just going to sit in my chair and enjoy this.

Actually there have been quite a lot of private servers already even dating back to 2011. (Wildshadow shut them all down)
There is also atleast 3 private servers currently in development.

All of them will be shut down if it hurts Kabam's income. I don't know any written contracts about permission to run private servers and of course the words of a GM doesn't mean anything. It wouldn't be the first time Kabam takes back its word.
