It's a lot to take in, but once you get the hang of it, it's a really good time.

    Eww. I only use Reaper.
You were seeking strength, justice, splendour.
    You were seeking love.
Here is the pit, here is your pit.
    Its name is Silence..

So having them in there already might be good.

I've got enough space to waste, the only problem is my capped internet.
Nah, trust me with the stock FLS plugins you can achieve some incredible results. VST's are only meant to add on to those results, having too many will just slow your progress of learning down. Trust me, I went from over two hundred VST's, to less than fifteen.

Reaper's good, but the piano roll is what turns me away. I prefer to right click > Piano roll. Not Select track, Midi > New Midi Track > Highlight Length > Piano Roll.

As of now I don't have any left after my format. So I've been looking for some new tools.
    But point taken.

Were you thinking about anything in particular, like the OSCx3?

3xO is nice, especially when layered with Reeverb 2 and the Fruity Love Philter. Honestly, maybe grab Nexus 2 and the Z3ta+ VST's and you'll be good on any genre of music. Grab the DBlue VST's (all free) for some added effects and you're set.

I actually have Nexus 2 and Z3ta+ somewhere on my computer.
And quite honestly, I think I've been using DBlue since forever too x)

My shorttime memory blows, but yeah those are some nifty all around tools.
I also used Drumkit from hell earlier, but it sounded extremely horrible, so after a very horrible attempt at trying to sample my own stuff I gave up and heard about Superior Drummer 2, so I stated using that as well, and philarmonik - although Philarmonik is hard.

I have a fuckload of samples that I just tweak to whatever I need them for when it comes to drums. I also use Drumazon on occasion, but not too often.

I have to give my hands down to the superior drummer though. You should try it.
