    You don't need to be a pirate.

    If you're in college, you can get Office for free in 2-4 year subscriptions. I did anyways.

    I'm sure high school students can get some sort of discount too.

    But why not use Open Office? Or Libre Office in Linux? They both can create, save, and edit M$ Office files.

    I've used it before it's not shitty at all. Does everything office does and is completely compatible with MS files.

    Nope, it's just that Office 97 and XP is still really good and useful. I mostly just type essays and make/work with spreadsheets, so I don't need any new features like the ribbon bar or whatever. We got it when it came out and it's a legal copy
