What is the actualy model of the computerz is it custom built or store bought. Gateway 64x is an old motherboard, not a computer.

F8 wont do anything unless its an off the shelf computer like hp, and even then some dont have a custom boot sequence. The most you can do is format the machine but that isnt restoringt factory settings. You need to know if you have recovery disks or a recovery partition otherwise all you can do is wipe the machine

I think he's talking about the repair your computer menu in the boot loader... OP press and hold space bar after your computer passes through POST and the bios completes it's test. In other words right before windows tries to load up.

If your computer is made by a brand, it should pretty much always come with a recovery disk and driver and utility disk. Boot from it and you can restore windows from there. Assuming you have the disk.

I am biased though because Vista was the OS on my first actual PC that I owned by myself 6 years ago, so I have some nostalgia.
