Nope, I was playing Escape Mode with this guy, after the match was over we were sent straight back to lobby, then I noticed he had gone from Captain 1 to Captain 5 after that match(he posted this image on the Z8 forums shortly after it happened). The +200% EXP event is causing bugs like this one...
