I read in this book that Russian spies used to have "Sucide Pills" that they would give the spy and if the spy got captured they could pop in in their mouth and cuase instand cardiac arrest.It was a WWII book.

Yeah, you would suffocate from the lack of oxygen, but more likely you would die first from freezing to death. At absolute zero, everything ceases to move, atoms included. While space isn't absolute zero, it's pretty damn close. Your brain would shut down.

If this is really the case there is there is no time for the astronaut to actually "suffer" from taking or having their helmet knocked off or something.
