What are some good cars for under 5000?

My 533i is going to shit and need a new car.

Been lookin' into VW GTI's and Golfs. Seem like pretty dependable cheap cars.
Obviously used.

Dodge Stealth is easy as fuck to get under 5k and work on. German vehicles are expensive to work on unless you know people. You could always get a honda (I have a hatred for all Honda's personally).

I'm a Jap/German fan all the way. The Nissan 300zx is my favorite, followed by the Audi A4 in the rare Pelican blue.

Getting a good used car under 5000 is hard. Most used cars that sell for cheap were put in grass fields, which means that there would be a lot of rust underneath the car, because of the oxygen released from the grass. That would mean that you would probably need new brake lines, rotors and calipers. And its hard to replace them since the its all rusted and seized, which will cost you more money.
