It's probably an aphtha, they are caused by a shortage of vitamins, stress, if you just stopped with smoking etc.
If yours is bigger then 1 centimeter, then it can take 6-8 weeks to go away, and it's really painful, but a smaller one should be gone after 1-2 weeks.
