If you want to change game mode why not just do it in the server.cfg?
do you guys know what command will change a match into "team-based" after the mod changes the session to "xblive_privatematch 0"...?
i ask this because once my mod changes the private match into a public match, it throws the host into "limbo" where it seems the game thinks it is free-for-all when it is actually a team-based match... this means that the player automatically joins what amounts to spectator mode since the game doesn't understand the current mode is team-based
it seems the default game mode when changing to a public match is free-for-all... i saw in a decompiled playlists.info file where you choose modes in matchmaking had various codes such as:
"teambased" (general term used for all team based modes?)
"script war" (script initiated when you pick team deathmatch?)
"script koth" (script initiated when you pick headquarters?)
i know that the console command "fast_restart" can be put into a GSC file when expressed in this format: "map_restart(true);" so i'm thinking something similar can be done with the commands found in the decompiled playlist.info (a branch of mp_playlists.ff)
....
also on a side note i've been looking into various ff (fast file) editors in order to modify a PC version mp_playlists.ff file but every editor i can find rather doesn't support PC version fast files or it can't open playlist files... any help regarding this? any info at all would help
If you want to change game mode why not just do it in the server.cfg?
Because i dont see how that could help... The issue isnt starting a match with the mode i want, just that i need it to stick when i change the server to "xblive_privatematch 0"... Using that command forces the host onto the free-for-all team even when it is a team based match.. When i add bots they join correct teams but not the host, and because of this, both teams look like the enemy and im missing the team based HUD elements
I have not tested it...Code:("g_gametype,"mode")
yea i needed "setDvar" in front of it so i didn't get bad syntax... either way it had no affect on the match
