Bullets are meant to penetrate, they cut through flesh, not push it. Even if they were hollowpoint, they don't carry nearly enough force to move somebody. As for the blood spurting, the blood circulating through your system isn't going at anywhere near the speed needed for the dramatic "spray" effect commonly seen. The bullet penetrating inwards would actually reduce the spray compared to other injuries such as blunt-force trauma and stab wounds.

Question, what if a small child got shot by a man, at point blank. What caliber would be needed to blow the child away, or would it still not have the force to move the child?...
