Yeah I think they rush it to get "first" on translations so it gets published on the manga-sites.

I think it's a genjutsu, in all honesty. Because at the beginning he turned into Rin too, that could just be Kakashi having a flashback, but that + the no heart and shit, I think it's a genjutsu.

Well, there's 2 things to note about that.

1. That was a filler arc in the anime, the 3 tail arc never happened in the manga. (Although is was inspired by Kishi, he gave the animators the idea).

and

2. The thing with Rin happened FAR before the 3 tails wound up in that lake, I think it may have even happened before Yagura was even the Jinchuriki, but it was DEFINITELY LONG before the 3 tails arc.

Know what will be total bullshit, if Kakashi somehow has Minato's Fly Thunder God Kunai in his Hip Pouch all these years but never used it and Minato makes a guess that he has it with him and he teleports in the Dimension with them and BAM !!!! He see's one of them Dead or on the brink of death. Then he see's Obito and the flashback happens and the feels kick in.
