His question states that his whole application is hanging due to the length of time it's taking to write the data to disk. Poor coding aside, this is likely because of a large set of data in the list-box, given that the number of File.AppendAllText calls your code makes is directly proportional to the number of items in the listbox, it's safe to say this is a big deal.

Poor habits shouldn't be encouraged or suggested, especially for the sake of 1 less line of code. They breed other sloppy coding habits.

Yeah, I see the point there. Well, thanks for informing about it. I didn't really think it would affect that much, as .Net uses the Garbage Collection thingy
(And not like C++ I think, where you had to do it manually)

Any body know a way to improve the rate StreamWriters write to a file, the writer has to write 100,000 lines at times and it's obvious it will be slow but does anyone know a way to make it speed up or prevent the program from freezing?
